Boaters Take Note: Temporary No Wake Zones on L’ Homme Dieu and sixteen other area lakes have been put in place by the Douglas County Commissioners due to the very high water levels. The temporary control states that “no person may operate a watercraft at any time less than 300 feet lakeward of the shoreline exceeding slow-no wake speeds.” This takes effect on Jun 15th and will run until July 15th, or until high water levels have subsided and remain at or below one-quarter below the Ordinary Highwater Mark for three or more consecutive days.
